About the Role Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide clinical leadership and operational support across the Medical and Urgent Care Unit. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based care while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership, support, and guidance to nursing staff.
- Acting as a clinical resource and role model within the unit.
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Assisting with workforce management, rostering, and resource allocation.
- Driving quality improvement initiatives and clinical excellence.
- Collaborating effectively with medical practitioners and multidisciplinary teams.
- Supporting urgent care presentations and acute patient management.
- Assisting with unit coordination and operational responsibilities as required.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Previous experience in an ANUM, Clinical Nurse, Team Leader, or equivalent senior nursing role.
- Strong clinical experience within acute, medical, or urgent care settings.
- Demonstrated leadership and staff mentoring capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety principles.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to delivering person-centred care and positive patient outcomes.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Emergency Nursing, Acute Care, Critical Care, Leadership, or a related discipline.
- Experience working within a rural or regional healthcare setting.
- Advanced Life Support certification.
- Experience in workforce coordination and patient flow management.
