Lead Acute Services in a Supportive Rural Health Setting

We are currently recruiting for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join a well-established rural health service in beautiful East Gippsland, Victoria. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership while making a genuine difference to the local community.

Working across the Medical Ward and Emergency Department, you'll play a key role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager, leading clinical teams, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care.

About the Role
As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will:
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff across Acute Services.
  • Coordinate daily patient flow, staffing and resource allocation.
  • Support the operational management of the Medical Ward and Emergency Department.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
  • Mentor and develop nursing staff to promote clinical excellence.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and patient safety outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, accreditation and infection prevention standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
  • Act as Nurse Unit Manager when required.
About YouTo be successful, you will have:
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated experience in acute medical nursing.
  • Emergency nursing experience is highly regarded.
  • Previous leadership or acting leadership experience.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • A passion for mentoring staff and delivering exceptional patient care.
Highly Desirable
  • Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing, Acute Care or a related specialty.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Experience working within a rural or regional health service.
  • Experience using electronic medical record systems.
