Senior Medical Officer (GP with Obstetrics)

Make medicine an adventure.
Are you an experienced GP with advanced obstetrics skills looking for more than just another clinic job? This could be your career-defining opportunity.
Here you’ll deliver meaningful care in a region rich with culture, diversity, and natural beauty. This role combines high-level clinical practice with the chance to mentor, lead, and be part of something truly impactful.

The Opportunity
As a  Senior Medical Officer, you'll provide comprehensive, patient-centred medical care across hospital and primary care settings. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing patients across emergency, general practice, and maternity services
  • Providing  obstetric services  in line with your credentialed scope of practice
  • Leading and supervising junior medical staff, students, and health workers
  • Supporting quality improvement, governance, and clinical education
  • Contributing to community health programs and chronic disease management
You’ll work as part of a committed, multidisciplinary team delivering care that changes lives — not just treats symptoms.

Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for:
  • General Practitioners with FACRRM, FRACGP or international equivalent (MRCGP and MICGP)
  • Hold advanced obstetrics training (e.g. DRANZCOG Advanced or equivalent)
  • Skilled in emergency and hospital-based care
  • Strong communicators and natural team leaders
  • Committed to rural and remote health, teaching, and continuous improvement

Why Choose Us?
  • Diverse, rewarding clinical scope  with real impact
  • Relocation assistance, housing, and generous rural allowances
  • Live and work in a stunning part of Australia — where work-life balance isn’t just a slogan
Whether you're seeking a fresh challenge, leadership growth, or an unforgettable career experience, this is your chance to combine medicine with meaning.
