Join a supportive healthcare team in a remote island setting, working as a sole Medical Scientist with strong clinical exposure and autonomy.

The Opportunity
Join a supportive healthcare team in a remote island setting, working as a sole Medical Scientist with strong clinical exposure and autonomy.
- Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- On-call required after hours and weekends
- Minimal weekend lab operation (call-outs only)
You’ll work across a broad scope of practice, including:
- Haematology (Beckman Coulter DxH500 – FBE & differentials)
- Coagulation (INR, APTT)
- Point-of-care Biochemistry (iStat, Afinion, Piccolo)
- Blood Banking (BioRad manual card technique)
- Microbiology (urine, swabs, faecal cultures)
- PCR testing (GeneXpert – COVID, Flu, RSV, etc.)
- Onsite phlebotomist (8am–12pm weekdays)
- Nursing staff support inpatient and after-hours collections
- Weekly sample transfers to Royal Brisbane Hospital
- Work in a stunning island location
