The Opportunity Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is Tasmania’s second-largest hospital, offering a busy mix of elective and emergency services. As a key clinical teaching and research centre, LGH prides itself on delivering excellence in patient care guided by its CARE values.

We are currently seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the JMDC team—driving high-quality care delivery within a supportive, collaborative, and multidisciplinary environment.

The Role As the Nurse Manager of JMDC, you will:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across the unit

  • Ensure safe, effective care aligned with clinical standards and best practice

  • Manage and support staff to foster a high-performing team culture

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve high-quality outcomes

Position Details
  • Permanent full-time (up to 76 hours per fortnight)

  • Commencement : As soon as the successful candidate is available

  • This recruitment process may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, or casual vacancies over the next 12 months

Salary & Benefits
  • $122,365 – $129,060 per annum (Nurses & Midwives Tasmanian State Service Agreement 2023)

  • + 12% employer superannuation

  • Post-Graduate Allowance of up to 10% (qualification dependent)

    • Up to $9,010 in living expenses

    • $2,650 meal & entertainment

    • Additional packaging options where eligible

  • Relocation Support:

    • Up to $15,000 for overseas candidates

    • Up to $10,000 for interstate candidates

    Access to 40+ gyms statewide — only $14.50 per week for individuals, $28.05 for families

Eligibility Essential:

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA

Desirable:

  • Post-graduate qualifications

  • Credentialing with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA)

  • Membership with ADEA or other relevant professional bodies
