Permanent | Full-Time (76 hrs per fortnight + on-call)
$148,470 + 12% super + allowances + relocation support

Lead, Influence & Shape Healthcare in Tasmania An exceptional leadership opportunity is now available in Launceston for an experienced senior nursing professional to step into a Nursing Director role within the Sub Acute & Ambulatory Care Services Division.

This is a high-impact position where you will drive strategic direction, lead multidisciplinary teams, and oversee a diverse portfolio of specialist services - while working closely with executive leadership to deliver excellence in patient care.
About the Role Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations & Performance, and working in partnership with the Clinical Director-Department of Medicine, you will:
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across Sub Acute & Ambulatory Care Services
  • Lead clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management frameworks
  • Oversee a broad and diverse service portfolio including:
    • Rehabilitation Wards
    • Renal Services 
    • Specialist Clinics
    • Diabetes Centre
    • Hospital Aged Care Liaison Team 
    • Transitional Care Program
    • Refugee Health
    • Respiratory & Neurology Services
    • Diabetes & Renal Research
  • Manage human, financial, and operational resources in line with organisational objectives
  • Drive innovation in service redesign, education, and research
  • Mentor and support Nurse Unit Managers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
What You’ll Bring
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Proven experience in senior nursing leadership within complex healthcare environments
  • Strong background in clinical governance, service delivery, and workforce management
  • Ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and influence at an executive level
  • Desirable: Relevant postgraduate qualifications
