About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Senior/experienced Registered Occupational Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapy to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental needs. Your work will focus on improving communication, cognitive, and functional outcomes through collaborative care with families, educators, and allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Treatment
- Conduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments, including functional, sensory-motor, and cognitive evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualised, goal-oriented therapy plans for children and adolescents with developmental and neurodevelopmental challenges.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to identify barriers and support their child’s development.
- Provide tailored home programs and self-management strategies to reinforce therapy outcomes outside clinical sessions.
- Work alongside teachers and school staff, offering strategies, training, and tools to support neurodiverse students.
- Deliver professional development sessions and ongoing consultative support to education providers.
- Partner with Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, and Allied Health Assistants to provide integrated care.
- Participate in case conferences, joint care planning, and team meetings.
- Contribute to early intervention programs in collaboration with childcare centres.
- Prepare clear, timely, and accurate clinical reports and progress notes.
- Review and update treatment plans according to outcomes and evolving needs.
- Deliver therapy interventions grounded in current best practices and research.
- Recommend adaptive equipment and strategies to support communication and participation in daily activities.
- Maintain ethical standards and professional conduct in line with legislation and registration requirements.
- Ensure all work aligns with Nexia Health Care’s clinical governance and quality frameworks.
