We are currently recruiting for an experienced Ophthalmology Clinical Nurse Specialist – Theatre to join a well-established private hospital on the Gold Coast. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled Perioperative Scrub/Scout Registered Nurse with strong ophthalmology experience to step into a leadership-focused role within a modern surgical environment.
This position offers an excellent work–life balance with a Monday to Friday flexible roster – no on-call, weekends, public holidays or trauma.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the nursing team to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care
- Assist with team rostering, workload management and delegation of tasks
- Support senior leadership with quality activities and procurement
- Ensure the theatre complex and equipment are prepared for surgery
- Maintain strong communication with the surgical team to prioritise patient safety
- Monitor and evaluate patient recovery, addressing any complications
- Provide education and support to patients throughout their recovery
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Solid experience as an Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout Nurse in a theatre/perioperative setting
- Strong clinical, technical and problem-solving skills
- A passion for education, mentoring and leadership
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing (desirable)
- Monday to Friday flexible roster – no weekends, on-call or public holidays
