About the Role
As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you will:
- Deliver safe, timely, and evidence-based emergency nursing care
- Conduct rapid and comprehensive patient assessments, including triage
- Respond effectively to acute clinical deterioration and medical emergencies
- Provide trauma-informed, person- and family-centred care under pressure
- Collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health teams
- Accurately document care and maintain high clinical and professional standards
- Support junior staff and students through supervision and delegation
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement and risk management initiatives
About You
You are a motivated ED nurse who demonstrates:
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
- The ability to remain calm and effective in high-acuity situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
- A commitment to patient safety, dignity, and culturally safe care
- Flexibility to work rotating rosters, including nights and weekends
Essential Criteria
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Experience working in an Emergency Department or acute care setting
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Sound understanding of clinical governance, escalation, and risk management
- Competence with electronic medical record systems
- Compliance with vaccination and employment screening requirements
