We are seeking perioperative Registered Nurses with experience in Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout, with the opportunity to work across Admissions, Anaesthetics, and Recovery. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy a collaborative environment and delivering outstanding patient care in a day surgery setting.

Canberra Microsurgery is a centre of excellence delivering high-quality ophthalmic surgical care. Licensed with ACT Health (HPS) and accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards, the facility features:
- 4 modern operating theatres
- A state-of-the-art refractive laser suite
- A 2-bed first-stage recovery unit
- A 12-chair second-stage recovery unit
The Role
We are seeking perioperative Registered Nurses with experience in Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout, with the opportunity to work across Admissions, Anaesthetics, and Recovery. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy a collaborative environment and delivering outstanding patient care in a day surgery setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and scout duties for ophthalmic procedures
- Providing safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care
- Supporting patients across admissions, theatre, and recovery
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Upholding quality, safety, and infection control standards
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration with a practicing certificate
- Police Clearance and Working With Vulnerable People check
- Experience in recovery and/or theatre nursing (desirable, not essential)
- Post-registration perioperative qualifications (desirable, not essential)
- Ability to work across multiple perioperative roles (preferred)
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work variable day shifts only (no weekend shifts)
- A team-focused approach and commitment to day surgery principles
