The modern perioperative unit features state-of-the-art theatres, including a hybrid theatre, supported by an Intensive Care Unit, cardiac services, and dedicated oncology facilities.
Your Role
As a Perioperative Registered Nurse – Scrub Scout, you will:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties
- Supervise, direct, and support Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing to provide patient-centred care
- Provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the perioperative journey
- Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes
- Collaborate effectively with the broader healthcare team to meet individual patient needs
- Act as a role model and champion for safe clinical practice
- Current AHPRA Registration and Australian working rights
- Minimum 3 years’ perioperative nursing experience in a Scrub Scout role
- Experience in one or more of the following specialties: Neurosurgery, Vascular, Cardiothoracic, General, Urology, Gynaecology, Robotics
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Compliance with ACQSHC National Standards
- Proven commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills
- Valid Working with Children Check (where applicable)
- Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)
